My name is John Burnside and I am the owner of Touch of Rustic. I have been making jewellery for about 8 years now starting from my humble beginnings of my dining room table (which my girlfriend was not happy about) I have now built my own workshop in my back garden to keep the kids away from the various dangerous machines involved in jewellery making.
All the Jewellery you see on this site is made by me in ‘the shed’ which obviously means you are getting a piece made in the UK.
Over the years I have honed my skills and mostly focus on pendant making in sterling silver although i do make rings as well.
All of the personalised items are hand made and if they have letters on are also hand stamped using my tiny jewellers anvil and hammer. Each piece is made with love and I can send you pictures of your piece being stamped so you can be involved in the making of your piece from start to finish.
Touch of rustic isn’t just about making jewellery though. In it are lots of other interesting projects that I take on which I hope you’ll enjoy reading or talking about. In the summer time I like catching crayfish so there might be a few posts about that. This autumn I made some blackberry port to see me through the winter. I’m not just selling jewellery but I’m selling a lifestyle of trying to get back to a more wholesome way of living and trying to avoid the rat race.
